Patients are examined at the Anaesthetic Clinic prior to scheduled surgery. The examination includes general internist examination and focused anaesthetic examination. If the anaesthesiologist establishes that the patient’s general condition and test results meet the criteria for safe anaesthesia during surgery, the date for surgery will be scheduled. If there are deviations in the test and examination results, the anaesthesiologist requests additional tests or sends the patient to a specialist who evaluates risk during the operative procedure.
